Somewhere along the way, I realised how often we wait to celebrate ourselves. We wait for milestones, permission, “the right moment.” But what if we didn’t have to? What if we could honour who we are in this exact chapter, in all our softness and strength, without needing a reason other than just being?

A soul photography session, for me, is not just about how you look, it’s about who you are at your core. It’s about capturing the fibre of your being: the quirks, the quiet, the fire, the fragility. It’s about creating a space where you can show up as your truest self and be seen without judgement, without expectation. These sessions are raw, real, and rooted in truth, and they’ve become one of the most meaningful parts of my work as a photographer in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and the surrounding areas.
Why I Started Offering Soul Sessions
Photography, at its heart, has always been about connection. And while I adore photographing weddings, families, and newborns, I found myself craving something even more personal. Something deeper. I wanted to create a space for people to be photographed not for others, but for themselves.
In a world that often asks us to shrink, filter, or perform, I wanted to offer the opposite: space to expand, to be messy, radiant, thoughtful, wild, joyful. Whatever is true for you in the moment. These soul photography sessions in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire became a way to honour that truth.
