A Candid Family Baking Session | Real Life Family Photography in Nottinghamshire
When Stacie got in touch to gift herself a Mother’s Day photography session, I knew straight away it wasn’t going to be your typical posed portrait shoot. Stacie is mum to eight gorgeous, brilliantly individual kids, and what she really wanted was something real.
No forced smiles, no matching outfits, no pressure to “perform” for the camera.
She simply wanted memories of her family doing what they love most: baking together, in all their beautiful chaos.
And honestly? It was perfect.
From flour explosions to sticky fingers and giggles around the kitchen island, this documentary style family session was filled with connection, mess, noise and so much love. There were little quiet moments too, a gentle glance from Stacie to her husband Mark that said everything about the deep bond they share. You can’t stage that. You can’t fake it. But you can photograph it, if you’re patient, and if you let life unfold as it really is.
That’s the magic of relaxed, candid family photography. No pressure, no scripts, just genuine, joy filled moments that already exist. All I do is help you press pause.
Stacie, thank you for welcoming me into your family chaos. I couldn’t have loved it more.
